Flicks, Flicks, Flicks

Recently I saw the movie Surrogate starring Bruce Willis. Although the film appeared action pact from the previews-it was not. But the lack of action did not damper the film because the subject matter was thought provoking, and the pace was sufficient enough to repel boredom.
The film is essentially about people who live their lives through their surrogates (robots), and one of those people, the son of the scientist who invented the surrogate technology, is murdered while connected to his surrogate by an assault on his surrogate with a weapon that got into the hands of an anti-surrogate group. Again as a thought provoking film, I wondered how many people would actually live their lives through their surrogate. I thought it was very interesting, but I wanted a little more action. I'll grade it a 78.

Some of the other films that I have seen recently include Inglorious Bastards, which was amazing, from the acting to the story line. What a flick! Lets see what else...Halloween II, which was well produced and well directed but the symbolism made it a little weird, but it did add depth to the film. Nine, very entertaining but I thought it was missing something. Whiteout with Kate Beckinsale-was not bad, but the preview was misleading because the mystery to be discovered was something so mundane. Well that's all, peace out homies!

As a fan of GI Joe as child, I wondered what a live GI Joe movie would be like , and now that it has finally happened, I must say I'm glad that the live action version of this film is unlike the animation series in reference to the costumes of the different characters. The live motion picture is more realistic because the characters had specialized uniforms within a formal military format. This film lived up to the hype. It is a quintessential blockbuster, marked by plenty of explosions and special effects, an entertaining fight scenes. The pace of this film was great. No lag. Non stop action. The dialogue in the script was not very sophisticated, but the script was not aiming for opulent dialogue. As an action movie, with great production, it did not disappoint. Unyielding entertainment. And the acting was sufficient for the nature of the film. According to metacritic.com the film received generally unfavorable reviews, and according to rottentomatoes.com the film received 32 fresh tomatoes to 53 rotten ones thus far. I liked it I thought it was great. I'll grade it an 85. Stay tuned movieporuim blogpsot.com. Oh! On a last note. I truly enjoyed the history that was provided about Snake Eyes, Duke, Ana, and the soon to be Cobra Commander.

The Collector: Traps

Official Site: thecollector-movie.com
Director(s): Marcus Dunstan
Writer(s): Patrick Melton, Marcus Dunstan
Producer(s):Brett Forbes, Julie Richardson, Patrick Rizzotti

Starring:Madeline Zima, Andrea Roth, Josh Stewart, Daniella Alonso, Robert Wisdom, Michael Reilly Burke,(IMDb). Rated-R, 88 min.

I don't recall seeing any previews for this film. I went to see it because a friend from work mentioned it to me. Well after seeing the film, I was rather disappointed with the ending. But ending aside, the film was gory, creative, and semi suspenseful, with the most creative parts being the traps spawned by the killer, whom I would have liked to know more about. Some more history about the killer would have helped me understand his purpose more. Admittedly he was a semi charismatic killer, because the weird mask made him frightful to some extent. Overall it was OK I'll grade it a 75. Stay tuned, movieporium.blogspot.com.
