Bruno is a creative piece of vulgarity encasing social commentary about attitudes toward homosexuality, and fascinations with celebrities, which Bruno so ardently wants to become. If one could stop laughing, and being shocked at the measures that Bruno takes to become a celebrity; it's possible to notice the film's social commentary is largely sardonic about pop culture's focus on the inane, and even in its efforts to express genuine concerns for sociopolitical issues, pop culture's efforts still appear superficial.

Social commentary excluded, Bruno delivered as anticipated, and that was an array of wild, funny, shocking, and unthinkable antics that induced discomfort and laughter. Sacha Baron Cohen's ability to play socially challenged and lovable characters is a quite a gift. According to metacritic.com the film received mixed reviews, and rottentomatoes.com granted the film 111 fresh tomatoes to 46 rotten ones thus far. Good sttuff, I'll grade it an 83.
