While this film appears to feature a great performance by Benicio Del Toro and great directing by Steven Soderbergh(Oceans 11 and 13), hopefully it will be objective, including the support and rejection of Che Guevara. Che Guevara had mixed support, to some he was venerable revolutionary who was earnestly seeking to improve the conditions of Cuba, but to others he was a violent oppressive leader who sought power like any other would be dictator. He was a hero to some, a monster to others.

Ben Thomas (Will Smith) is a distraught IRS tax collector who sought seven worthy people to help by selecting them from the IRS database. One of the people Thomas selected was Emily Posa (Rosario Dawson), a woman suffering from a heart condition that left her very little time to live. Thomas falls in love with Posa, and he ultimately helped her in way she could have never imagined.
It was difficult to understand the direction of the plot, but the film was crafted that way apparently. The plot emerged in the scene where he spoke to a laconic bed ridden senior about what type of person her general caretaker was. From that scene, one sensed, Ben Thomas wanted to help deserving people. It seemed Ben Thomas needed help also, because he appeared kind, but also bothered and plagued with anguish.
An inspirational film, Seven Pounds induces emotion, as Ben Thomas may serve as the archetype for those who want to learn self sacrifice. The acting was amazing, but Rosario Dawson is the winner. She played that role so well, such genuine emotion. It was difficult no to fall in love with Emily Posa. She was so beautiful and so sweet. According to metacritic.com the film received generally negative reviews, and according to rottenttomatoes.com the film earned 33 fresh tomatoes to 82 rotten ones thus far. This film fits somewhere between a B- and a C+. Carl Allen is a loan officer who is recovering from a failed relationship from which his former girlfriend, Stephanie, left him unexpectedly. Carl has a problem. He says "no" very often. He lies to his best friend constantly about hanging out, by telling him that he is busy with things, when he has no serious obligations. One day when Carl was siting outside of the bank, his friend Nick notices him, and they speak briefly about life.
During the conversation, Nick tells Carl that he is a "yes man'' and how saying yes has opened up a the world to him. Nick invited Carl to a seminar and uncharacteristically Carl said yes, and his life would change.
As the film began to convey it's point, I thought to myself, certainly one cannot say "yes" to every request, and I quickly understood the message. From a practical perspective the message is " live a little", try something new, and enrich the experience between birth and death.
Carl was unhappy in his redundant life, but his unhappiness was apparently his comfort zone, and he said no to requests that required him to take a step outside if his comfort zone.
This film was funny, but not hilarious. The comedic timing was good, and the story was interesting because it dealt with love, loneliness, and open mindedness. This film inspired me. After watching the film I realized it is good to try something new once in a while.
Jim Carey was magnificent, and so was Zooey Deschanel. They interacted well on screen. According to metacritic.com the film received mixed reviews, and according to rottentomatoes.con the film was granted 45 fresh tomatoes to 56 rotten ones thus far. This film fits somewhere between a B-, and a C+. Stay tuned, movieporium.blogpsot.com.

Britney Spears
This film was released in 2007. During that period there was no major adoration of the film, but it certainly received my adoration. The film was mellifluous. Also, the pace of the film was just right, and so was the tone. To expound on the tone, as the story developed the general feel of the movie was sustained, as the film was characterized by a sophisticated methodical evil, galvanized by the actions of the main character on account of his alter ego. Mr. Brooks's hunger to kill is instigated by his cynical alter ego Marshall, played by William Hurt. Mr. Brooks script.

Eddie Murphy As The Next Riddler ?
According to popeater.com, and inside source from the British newspaper The Sun, alleges that Eddie Murphy has signed up to play the role of the The Riddler in the upcoming Batman movie scheduled for release in 2010. Eddie Murphy as The Riddler is a far departure from Johny Depp, who was rumored to play the role initially. Imagining Murphy as the The Riddler is rather difficult, but what one cannot imagine is not a necessary indication that it cannot be done. Already there is disapproval. Based on the comments that were written about the article, some feel Murphy is a bad choice for the role, if indeed he has signed up to play the role. In the same article Rachel Weisz was rumored to be the next Catwoman, and Shia Lebeouf was rumored to be Robin. Rachel Weisz is not a bad choice, but adding Robin to this batman franchise is not a good choice. Christian Bale expressed his disapproval about introducing Robin in an interview with Charlie Rose during the time Batman Begins was in release or about to be released. Hopefully Eddie Murphy will not play The Riddler, preferably Johny Depp will. Check out the interview.
